Putting the People First: Human-Centered Poverty Alleviation
9/8/2009, 6pm, Stanley Hall’s Berdahl Auditorium
Please join us on Tuesday, September 8th at 6pm for the Global Initiatives kick-off event this fall! We’ll be hosting:
- Tim Brown, the CEO of IDEO and
- Jacqueline Novogratz, Founder and CEO of Acumen Fund.
IDEO is an innovation and design firm that uses a human-centered, design-based approach to help organizations generate new offerings and build new capabilities. Acumen Fund is a non-profit global venture fund that uses entrepreneurial approaches to solve the problems of global poverty.
Together, Jacqueline and Tim will discuss innovative approaches to global development where the people are at the heart of the solution. This is the first time that Jacqueline and Tim have appeared together on stage. It will be a lively discussion moderated by Stuart Davidson, a local venture capitalist and philanthropist.
Please feel free to spread this announcement far and wide to colleagues, family and friends. I look forward to seeing you all there! Contact me if you have any questions.
