oikos and UNDP have just announced the first Young Scholars Development Academy, which provides PhD students and young scholars working on poverty and sustainable development a platform to present and discuss their ongoing research projects with fellow students and senior faculty. The Academy is looking for researchers who are trying to understand poverty and development from a management or economics perspective — very similar to the Market-based Approaches to Reducing Poverty class that we are putting together again next year.
Sounds like a fantastic opportunity to network with fellow students and faculty, as well as apply insights and skills in a practitioner day with responAbility Social Investments from Zürich, Switzerland. Scholarships covering travel, participation fee and housing are made available by UNDP’s Growing Inclusive Markets initiative.
Submission Deadline: September 15, 2009
Academy: December 6-11, 2009
